Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate joining of steel members having different section forms and smoothen the transmission of the mechanical stresses by forming one end of a joint piece so that its cross-section presents approx. squarish 8-shape or cross-in-square shape, and forming the other end so that the cross-section assumes approx. rectangularly.
CONSTITUTION: One end of joint piece (1, 1) is formed with cross-section in the form of approx. squarish 8-shape or cross-in-square shape consisting of a peripheral flange 1a and vertical flange 1b, while the other end is formed with a rectangular cross-section approximately. This joint piece 1 is formed in a single piece structure by forging. One end of the squarish 8-shape or cross- in-square shape of the joint piece 1 is joined with a steel column 2 consisting of H-steel, while the other end of the rectangle is joined with another steel column 3 consisting of a square steel pipe. Thereby steel members having different section forms can be joined together very simply.
