Abstract:
To provide a metal plate that is capable of improving generation efficiency of a cell and a fuel battery when used in a separator of the fuel battery.SOLUTION: A metal plate comprises: a substrate made of a metal; and a carbon layer provided on at least part of a surface of the substrate, having electric conductivity, and being porous. A thickness of the carbon layer is 0.01 μm or greater and 5 μm or less. An R value, which is defined by R=(S2-X)/(S1-X), is 3.5 or greater (in the formula, S1 is an apparent surface area of the metal plate; S2 is an actual surface area, which is a surface area of the metal plate measured by the BET method; and X is an apparent surface area of a region in the surface of the metal plate in which the carbon layer is not formed).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
