Abstract:

To enable to establish a low-cost and quickly made surface treatment technology on a low-cost metal material which can be press-molded, satisfying both enough corrosion resistance needed as a metal separator for a solid polymer fuel cell (or, Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell, PEFC) and contact conductivity with an electrode substrate.

With an eye on the fact that a passive coating carrying corrosion resistance of a metal surface of the PEFC metal separator increases contact resistance with carbon paper to be an electrode substrate, a conductive coating layer is formed on the metal surface without degrading the corrosion resistance by immersing metal in alcohol with conductive particles and rubber system binders dispersed or by impressing an electric field on it as it is.
