Abstract:
To provide a metal refining furnace having a constitution capable of expanding the retaining volume of molten metal in a furnace without changing the size of the outline in a furnace body, and an operation method in which the ensuring of slag residence time is facilitated, deterioration in slag loss is prevented, and the maintenance and improvement of a regulus grade is possible.SOLUTION: A metal refining furnace is characterized in that water-cooling jackets with different cooling capacities are arranged in accordance with a thermal load within the inner-furnace wall side of a metal refining furnace, thus the expansion of an inner-furnace volume is made possible without changing the size of the outline in the furnace. An operation method has a process where the thermal load distribution of the inner-furnace wall face in a metal refining furnace is measured, and water-cooling jackets with different cooling capacities are arranged in accordance with a thermal load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
