Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a metallic carrier wherein a high-quality product having excellent precision is formed at good yield and excellent productivity is exhibited by using a steel having excellent workability.
CONSTITUTION: This metallic carrier is manufactured by alternately laminating a plate 1a and a corrugated sheet 1b or overlapping both and thereafter winding the same to form a honeycomb body 1 and housing it into an external cylinder 2. The honeycomb body 1 is constituted of common steel or a low-alloy steel and also an aluminum layer is formed on the surface of the honeycomb body by aluminum cementation.
