Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new compd. useful as photochemical stabilizers for polyamide fibers or a mixture of polyamide fibers and other fibers.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. of the formula (where R1 is H, (substd.) alkyl or aryl; X is O or S; and Me is Cu, Mn or Ni) such as Cu complex salt of N,N'-bis(2-hydroxy-5-sulfo-benzylidene)-o-phenylenediamine disodium salt is obtd. by metallizing an aldehyde or ketone and reacting it with the corresponding diamine or synthesizing a ligand from the aldehyde or ketone and diamine and metallizing it.
