PURPOSE: To prevent separation of abrasive grains from a grinding belt by making the belt in metal, and by bonding the abrasive grains to this belt by electrodeposition or welding.

CONSTITUTION: A metal endless band 1 is immersed in a plating bath which uses this band 1 as negative pole with abrasive grains 2 projected and which contains a molten electrodeposition metal, and DC current is supplied to the positive pole of this plating bath to form an electrodeposition film with abrasive grains 2 on the peripheral surface of said metal endless band 1, wherein the abrasive grains 2 are molten and affixed to the peripheral surface 11 of the band 1 by electrodeposition or gas, arc or thermit welding. Thus the metal endless band 1 and abrasive grains 2 are bonded fast to yield a grinding belt of metal 3.
