Title:
METALLIC VAPOR LASER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0722671
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a compact and highly efficient metallic vapor laser of high output by mounting a laser medium metal and an addition substance under the specified temperature regions inside a discharge tube to make each vapor pressure thereof form a specified partial pressure by using temperature distribution of a discharge tube.

CONSTITUTION: A copper lump 4 which is a laser medium metal and a silver lump 20 which is an addition substance are placed under a temperature region of about 1400 to 1500°C and a temperature region of about 1045°C inside a discharge tube 1. A vapor pressure of silver becomes a vapor pressure of about 10 to 20% of a vapor pressure of copper, density of an upper level of copper from an energy transfer level of silver is increased and laser oscillation output can be increased. As a result, a compact and highly efficient metallic vapor laser device of high output can be formed without using a heater and an oven which involve an increase of a size of a device.
