Abstract:
The metering valve contains two actual valves, preferably 2/2-way valves (3, 14), each with a control piston (15, 16). The first valve (3) has a connection for the injection nozzle (6) and a connection for the high pressure fuel line (2), and the second valve (14) has a connection for the injection nozzle and a connection for the drain line (13). During operation, the pressure forces acting upon the control pistons are equalised. An independent claim is also included for a fuel injection system with one high pressure fuel line per cylinder, including one of these metering valves between the high pressure fuel lines and injection nozzles.
