Abstract:
To provide a methanation system that efficiently produces water vapor required for water vapor electrolysis in a solid oxide electrolysis cell.SOLUTION: A methanation system comprises: a solid oxide electrolytic cell for producing hydrogen from a gas containing at least a water vapor; a first methanation reactor for producing methane from the gas containing hydrogen and carbon dioxide; first supply piping connecting the solid oxide electrolysis cell and the first methanation reactor to supply the gas containing hydrogen generated in the solid oxide electrolysis cell to the first methanation reactor; a separation device for separating at least the water vapor from a methane-containing gas produced in the first methanation reactor; and second supply piping connecting the separation device and the solid oxide electrolysis cell to supply the water vapor separated by the separation device to the solid oxide electrolysis cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
