Title:
METHANOL REFORMER FOR FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63230501
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve thermal efficiency, safety, reliability, etc., by recovering and burning a combustible gas at the outlet of a fuel cell in a combustion furnace, using the combustion waste gas as a heat source for a methanol reformer, circulating waste gas in a low-temperature part through the combustion furnace and controlling the gas temperature at the outlet of the combustion furnace.

CONSTITUTION: A methanol reformer is constituted as follows. A gas refined in a methanol reforming reactor 11 is used as a main fuel and introduced into a fuel cell 22 to carry out power generation. A combustible gas at the outlet of the fuel cell 22 is then recovered, introduced into a burner 4 of a combustion furnace 1 and burned. Generated combustion waste gas is subsequently passed through a superheater 7, evaporator 8 and denitration device 10 and utilized as a heat source for the methanol reforming reactor 11. Waste gas is then passed through an economizer 12 and discharged to the outside and waste gas in a low-temperature part is simultaneously circulated and fed to the combustion furnace 1 by a gas circulation fan 14 to control the gas temperature at the outlet of the combustion furnace 1. Thereby the aimed low-pollution methanol reformer having high reliability is provided.
