Abstract:

To provide a new graphitized product which reaches high density at a low pressing, has high discharge capacity per volume, and has high density but suppressed orientation so that permeability and retentivity of an electrolyte are not impaired, and to provide a method for producing the same and a negative electrode material using the same.

A mesocarbon microsphere graphitized product is characterized by having an average of the circumference length ratio (L) defined by formula (1) of 1.2 or more and having a crack portion on the surface thereof. Formula (1): Circumference length ratio (L)=(Circumference length of cross section of mesocarbon microsphere graphitized product)/(Circumference length of cross section when mesocarbon microsphere is supposed to be true sphere).
