Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for achieving relatively homogeneous weaving cycle times in a jet loom and a jet loom for performing the method.
SOLUTION: The decision of the average weft insertion time for every kind of the weft becomes unnecessary by assigning an objective pressure profile guarantying the objective yarn-flying time to a parameter of property of each weft, which parameter is specific to yarn-flying time and has been memorized in a data bank of a controller of a loom. The pressure profile guarantying the yarn-flying time is achieved by using a valve structure (2) having a piezoelectric actuator (5).
