Title:
METHOD FOR ADAPTIVELY DECIDING CHANNEL RESPONSE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1127100
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the impulse response of a channel with higher accuracy and to equalize the channel regardless of the quantization noise of a CODEC. SOLUTION: This method obtains an estimation value of probability distribution of a quantization noise in a sampled training sequence. The estimation value is used together with an error signal between a receiving signal and the convolution of a training series and a coefficient of a transversal filter 102 where a sample passes through. A tap coefficient of the filter 102 is adjusted by using the error signal which is biased through the probability distribution of the quantization noise. Concretely, an estimation device 103 uses an estimation value of ensemble average of ζ (Ak *C+nk ), where ζ represents a quantization noise function, Ak represents a training sequence, C represents a channel response, nk represents a random noise and * represents convolution.
