To provide a method capable of separating a phospholipid and glycolipide from a sample of cells or living body tissues and the like containing a plurality of kinds of lipids or the like without necessitating a pretreatment process for the sample, and separating and purifying the phospholipid and glycolipide in high purity by a simple operation.
The phospholipid and the glycolipide are adsorbed at the same time by bringing the sample containing the phospholipid and the glycolipide into contact with titanium oxide in the presence of a hydroxycarboxylic acid under an acidic condition. Then, the phospholipid and the glycolipide are respectively separately isolated. In this time, the glycolipide is eluted without inhibiting the adsorption of phosphate group in the phospholipid.
