Title:
METHOD FOR AGGREGATING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58198005
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove completely gaps at the inside of a cable unit by making silicone resin from the inlet side of an aggregating die to the center part of the die along the inwall of the die and twisting a central tensile strength body and optical fibers together to aggregate them.

CONSTITUTION: A central tensile strength body 4 consisting of a tensile strength body supply 1 and optical fiber strand supplies 2 and plural fiber strands 3 are passed through a butt strap 5 and twisted by a aggregate die 6' having a recessed side on the input side in accordance with the revolution of the fiber supplies 2. When silicone resin 12 is accumulated in a resin supplying device 15 and the resin 12 is made flow from the inlet side of the die 6' to the center part of the die 6' along the inwall side, the resin 12 is accumulated in the center part and permeated into the whole tensile strength body 4 and the strands 3 without a gap and the body 4 and the strands 3 are twisted and aggregated under the completely united state. The resin 12 excessively adhered to the external surface of the unit is removed by a molder 13. Subsequently, the unit is baked by a baking device 10 to be hardened and then wound by a winder 8. Consequently, the gaps at the inside of the unit can be removed completely.
