Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide method and apparatus for adjusting a printing gap simply, inexpensively, and reliably without noise.
CONSTITUTION: A print head 11 driven by a stepping motor 30 goes forward in the direction 18 of a printing drum 19. Changes in electric current to a driving motor 25 of an ink ribbon 24 caused by the deceleration of the ink ribbon 24 based on the mutual contact with these print head 11 and the printing drum 19 by this progress are used for adjusting the printing gap in a desired width.
