Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a metallic sheet to be machined and be easily and finely bent by properly performing electrical discharge using a simple method and apparatus.
SOLUTION: The metallic sheet 2 is machined by generating desired thermal strain in parts to be bent of the metallic sheet 2 by a device consisting of a power source 1 and an electrode 3 for generating the electrical discharge on the metallic sheet 2 to be bent. The electrode 3 is made closer to the metallic sheet 2 and electrical discharge is generated in a process that the interval between the electrode 3 and the metallic sheet 2 is varied.
