To obtain a method and an apparatus for efficiently burning a combustible material or particularly a powder.
The method for burning comprises the steps of forming a plurality of stages of combustion chambers in a vertical direction, dropping a powder from the upper chamber to the lower chamber, burning the powder, and repeating the these steps. A smoke exhaust passage 102 having a ceramic filter 101 is coupled to the smoke exhaust cylinder of a combustion equipment 100, and further a water cooling tower 103, a heat exchanger 104 and a smoke exhaust cylinder 105 are sequentially connected to the passage 102. The equipment 100 has a overall cylindrical combustion cylinder 10, and a rotary drive shaft 11 rotatably supported at its center. A rotatably driving mechanism 12 is supported to the upper end of the cylinder 10. The mechanism 12 can rotate the cylinder 10 at a variable speed. The equipment 100 is adapted to burn a combustible material having a relatively fine particle size such as a powder, a crushed material or the like.
