To suppress generation of defects such as press deformation or short shot when a sponge rubber composition is charged into a cavity to obtain a product.
A method for connecting a mold for a weather strip comprises facing the end part of an extrusion molding part of the weather strip to a cavity of a mold and setting it, charging an unvulcanized sponge rubber composition into the cavity, and simultaneously performing vulcanization molding of a mold molding part and connecting with the extrusion molding part in the mold. In this method, a mold temperature detected by a temperature sensor is fed back to an operating part in which an correlation equation between the mold temperature and the volume increase ratio by expansion of the sponge rubber composition is stored in advance, and an appropriate amount of the unvulcanized sponge rubber composition charged in the cavity is calculated. By charging the calculated appropriate amount of the unvulcanized sponge rubber composition into the cavity, generation of press deformation and the short shot caused by excess or shortage of the amount of charging of the unvulcanized sponge rubber composition into the cavity is suppressed.
