PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting precast segments forming a bridge or the like, which prevents the formation of a gap or a so-called "aperture" between segment connecting surfaces to a minimum extent, reduces the amount of steel products to be employed, and dispenses with a so-called "drawing steel product" available at the time of drawing the precast segments connected to each other, and to provide an apparatus for connecting the precast segments.
SOLUTION: The method for connecting the precast segments is comprised of a positioning step, a bolt inserting step, and a fastening step. In the positioning step, a male joint (4) fixed to one (1A) of the precast segments to be connected together is positioned to a female joint (5) fixed to the other precast segment (1B). In the bolt inserting step, a bolt (12) inside the male joint (4) is inserted into the female joint (5). In the fastening step, a worm wheel (13) arranged in the joint is rotated to screw the bolt (12) into a nut (22) in the female joint (5), to thereby fasten the male joint (4) to the female joint (5).
