Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the best use of flowing characteristic of variable Bingham fluid (ERF) relating to a machinery device including ERF.
SOLUTION: A piston 3A fixed to a rod 5 is reciprocatably inserted and held in a double acting type pneumatic cylinder part 3. On the other hand, ERF is packed in an ER damper part 4, and a damper piston 4A fixed to the rod 5 is reciprocatably inserted and held therein. The damper piston 4A comprises, e.g. fiver layers of cylindrical electrodes in such manner that the negative and positive polarities are alternately arranged. When the damper piston 4A is moved in accompany with the movement of the rod 5, the ERF is flown between the electrodes, on this occasion the flowing characteristic of the ERF is changed by the electric field generated between the electrodes for controlling the moving velocity (moving resistance) of the rod 5. Whereby the so-called running-away state, that is, the stick slip in accompany with the sudden change of the frictional force by the static friction and dynamic friction can be inhibited, the low speed control can be stably performed with high accuracy, and further the rod 5 can be controlled to a target position with high accuracy.
