Abstract:
PURPOSE: To electronically notarize the authenticity of an electronically recorded document by defining authenticity verification data by ciphering a data unit from a CRC generator and time data at a specified point of time from a time and data generator. CONSTITUTION: When a first data unit is supplied from a first party wishing to obtain verification that the data unit is authentic to the CRC generator 12 of an electronic notarization device 10, a second data unit representing information contents of the first data unit in generated by the generator 12. In addition, the time data to specify a point of time which is impossible to be changed by the first party is generated by the time and data generator 14. And the second data unit and time and date information are ciphered by being inputted in a ciphering device 16 and the authenticity verification data on which the time and data are printed is outputted from the device 10. Therefore, the document or the electronically recorded data is confirmed not to be changed after the time and date regarding the document. Consequently, the authenticity of the document is electronically notarized.
