Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic powder coating method and an apparatus therefor by which a coating film thicker than that of the conventional one is formed.
SOLUTION: A material to be coated (for example, a rotor 10) is introduced into an electrostatic coating vessel 50 and electrified resin powder is stuck on the material to be coated (a 1st powder sticking process). Next, the resin powder stuck on a part unwanted to be coated on the material to be coated is removed (unwanted powder removing process). The material to be coated is heated in a 1st heating apparatus 80 to melt-stick the stuck resin powder (a 1st heating and melt-sticking process). The resin powder is stuck again on a part necessary to apply the coating film more thicker in the melt-sticking part by a 2nd resin powder sticking apparatus 90 before the resin melt-stuck at first is not cured (a 2nd powder sticking process). Finally, the stuck resin powder is completely melt-stuck by heating the material to be coated again in a 2nd heating apparatus 100 (a 2nd heating and melt-sticking process).
