Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for estimating a motion vector using a plurality of motion vector predictors, an encoder, a decoder, and a decoding method, that are related to video coding by which the quantity of information transmitted to the decoder can be reduced.SOLUTION: The method for estimating a motion vector includes: calculating spatial similarities between a current block and a plurality of partitions adjacent to the current block; selecting at least one of the plurality of partitions adjacent to the current block on the basis of the calculated spatial similarities; and estimating a motion vector of the selected partition as the motion vector of the current block.
