Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and apparatus for transferring a fluid from a blood sampling tube to a glass capillary tube.
SOLUTION: A transfer unit 4 comprises a terminal 9 provided with a channel 6 for containing a glass capillary tube 3, and a base end 10 provided with a chamber 7 for containing a blood sampling tube 1 having an elastomer choking member 2. A cannula 5 for piercing the choking member 2 provided for the blood sampling tube 1 and a fluid channel for passing a fluid from the blood sampling tube 1 through the cannula 5 to the glass capillary tube 3 are fixed to the base end of transfer unit 4. Consequently, blood can be transferred in safety with no spill. A distributor 11 comprises means 16 for holding the transfer unit, regions 14, 15, 17, 18 for containing the blood sampling tube 1 and glass capillary tube 3, a push-in mechanism 13 disposed in adjacent to the bottom part of a blood sampling tube 1, and a handle 12 for operating the push-in mechanism 13 to feed the blood from the blood sampling tube 1 into the glass capillary tube 3.
