To provide a method and an apparatus for fitting a tubular film with which a tight tubular film can be smoothly and reliably fitted over even an object to receive the film which is formed with an angle or a step on a head.
The apparatus includes a container carry means 50 for sequentially carrying containers P in a standing state to a label fitting position αand a label feed means 40 for sequentially feeding tubular shrinkable labels (labels) L from upward to the label fitting position α, thereby fitting the label L over the container P carried to the label fitting position α. The container carry means 50 includes a belt conveyer 51 for carrying the container P in a standing state and screws 52 and 53 in two upper and lower stages for once tilting the container P carried by the belt conveyer 51 on an upstream of the label fitting position α, and returning the container P to an initial carried posture after the label L is fitted over an upper part of the tilted container P.
