Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING INSIDE OF TREE IN NON-DESTRUCTIVE MANNER USING ACOUSTIC TOMOGRAPHY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3919015
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently diagnose the state of the cavity or rotten part in a living tree in a non-destructive manner.
SOLUTION: When the state in a tree is inspected in the non-destructive manner, high-frequency acoustic waves accurately controlled in amplitude and frequency are allowed to enter the tree from a plurality of positions and the acoustic waves propagated through the tree are detected at a plurality of positions to visualize the state in the tree on the basis of the reception signals. On the basis of the speeds of the reception signals at this time, the hardness of the tree, the presence of its cavity or rotten part, and its water content are diagnosed or the size of the cavity or rotten part of the tree is diagnosed on the basis of the energies of the reception signals or the frequency characteristics of the reception signals.
