Abstract:
To provide a method for electrically isolating a pulmonary vein.
This method to electrically isolate the atrium sinistrum from the pulmonary vein includes: a step to introduce an ultrasonic assembly into the heart near the gate of the pulmonary vein: a step to fix the ultrasonic assembly to the pulmonary vein using an anchor; and a step to transmit the ultrasonic energy to a path from the ultrasonic assembly to a circumferential ablation area of the pulmonary vein. The path does not substantially includes the anchor.
