To discharge an air bubble mixed with an adhesive for bonding a dust-proof glass reducing influence of foreign matter sticking on a display surface of an electrooptical device to the display surface.
A method for manufacturing the electrooptical device includes a first stage of conveying the dust-proof glass 112 while vacuum-sucking the dust-proof glass on a suction surface of a suction nozzle 30 and then mounting the dust-proof glass on a substrate 104 where the adhesive is previously dripped with one surface up, and a second stage of pressing the other surface of the dust-proof glass 112 with the suction surface to bond the dust-proof glass 112 to the substrate 104. In the second stage, an area at a predetermined distance from an outer peripheral line of the dust-proof glass 112 is pressed by the suction surface and an area within the predetermined distance from the outer peripheral line is not pressed, so an air bubble mixed with the adhesive 114 becomes easier to flow out from the boundary surface between the dust-proof glass 112 and substrate 104. Therefore, staying of the air bubble between the dust-proof glass 112 and substrate 104 is suppressed.
