Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a fiber reinforced foamed resin molding which uses a very small amount of filaments such as glass roving and can produce a thick molding even with simple apparatus constitution and in a narrow space, and an apparatus for the method.

A bundle of a prescribed amount of glass roving 6 is dispersed uniformed and held by a drawing-in guide 4, is drawn in the longitudinal direction of the molding part 8 of a lower mold 1 by a pair of drawing-in rollers 4a, and is folded in two with a spacer 5 held between them. After that, an expandable, curable resin base liquid 11 is sprayed from a nozzle 3 to make the glass roving 6 impregnated with the liquid 11. The process is repeated, the laminated glass roving 6 and the liquid 11 is pressed by an upper mold 2 until the thickness reaches a desired molding thickness, and the liquid 11 is cured while being pressed. After that, the molding is demolded, and both ends are cut as required to finish the fiber reinforced foamed resin molding.
