To provide a method of manufacturing a sintered compact and an apparatus for manufacturing the sintered compact by means of which variance in the density of the sintered compact is suppressed.
The method of manufacturing a sintered compact uses an apparatus 1 for manufacturing the sintered compact, in which a shape of one of a punch upper surface 25a and an implement back surface is a projected spherical shape and a shape of the other is a recessed spherical shape and the method includes: a raw material arrangement step S1 of arranging raw material powder 100 in a mold 10; a pressing member arrangement step S2 of arranging a pressing punch 20 on the upper surface side of the mold 10 and arranging a pressing implement to be in contact with press punch 20; a pressurizing step of applying pressure on the press punch 20 using the pressing implement; and a heating step of heating the raw material powder 100. In the press member arrangement step S2, the pressing implement is arranged in such a manner that the punch upper surface 25a is brought into surface contact with the implement lower surface.
