To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a spiral fiber- reinforced preform in which the operation is automated, and the preform is mass-produced.
An upper disk 1 and a lower disk 2 are arranged in a vertical direction with a groove kept therebetween, and mounted on a shaft 8. A plurality of slits 10 are opened in the radial direction inside the upper and lower disks 1 and 2, and a plurality of guide members 5 are fixed to circumferential side surfaces of the upper and lower disks 1 and 2 at the positions corresponding to the slits 10. A pair of right and left spool holders 6a, 6b are arranged in the guide member 5 in a vertically movable manner in a direction opposite to each other. Each spool is mounted on the spool holders 6a, 6b, and each thread is fixed to the center from the inside of the slits 10. When the upper and lower disks 1 and 2 are rotated, the thread is wound within the groove, and when the guide member 5 reaches the position of a vertically movable cylinder 7, a position detector 23 detects the position, the spool holders are vertically moved by the cylinder in the direction opposite to each other, and the threads orthogonal to each other are alternately woven.
