Abstract:
PURPOSE: To ensure the stability of a vehicle by utilizing a hydrodynamic reaction pressure applied to a spring locking cylinder during the supporting action of a vehicle supporting device as a control variable which represents vehicle stability.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus includes a spring locking device 3 having a hydraulic cylinder 6, which clamps and locks a wheel spring 4. The reaction of an axle spring 4 can thus be measured via a pressure sensor 8 in the working chamber 12 of the hydraulic cylinder 6. When an axle with normal load applied thereto is retained and supported by the hydraulic cylinder 6, a force working on the spring 4 is induced in the working chamber 12 by a preload pressure. When a vehicle is subsequently placed in a supported state, pressure in the working chamber 12 starts to rise from the time support 13 contacts the ground 5. Any further supporting action is interrupted at the prescribed low pressure value before the pressure reaches a maximum value.
