To provide a projection system for projecting an image without keystone distortions.
A method and apparatus for preventing keystone distortions of a projected image are provided. A projected image (750a) is produced by projecting a light on an observation surface (130) at angle which is not perpendicular, wherein the light is led from a light source (102) through a deformed image (700a) that is displayed on a display device (110) of a projector (100). An original image (700) that is received for a projection is deformed, in response to the projection angle to produce the deformed image (700a). When the deformed image is projected, the projected image (750a) which has a ratio that is almost equal to that of the original image (700) is obtained. The size of the original image (700) can be changed so as to adapt to a storage in a memory and/or an adaptation to a particular area of the display device (110).
