PURPOSE: To realize a multicolor printing in a single pass by a method wherein main body blanks are cut from a sheet and fed in two parallel lanes to a rotating impression cylinder and printed in respective colors and cured through inking unit/ultraviolet lamp pairs in an apparatus for printing aerosol cans and the like.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic metal sheet 4 is fed to a scroll shear slitter 3 so as to be cut in intermediate fragments 6 and then in main body blanks 9. The resultant blanks are alternately fed with a transporting unit 8 in an input hopper 12 so as to feed in two rows with a double lane input conveyor 15 into a printing press 13. In the printing press 13, the blank is carried by an impression cylinder 14 so as to be successively printed with a large number of inking units 18. At every printing, the ink is cured by ultraviolet rays so as to perform the printing with a next color. The printed blank is coated with varnish at a varnish coating unit 17 and dried by being irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Finally, the blank is discharged with a conveying unit 10 onto a pallet 11.
