To quantify and express a sensory evaluation in using a thickener, in order to carry out a usability evaluation by using an objective standard.
A method for evaluating the usability is provided, which evaluates the usability by quantifying the sensory evaluation carried out in applying the thickener and includes: the parameter acquisition step of acquiring a physicality parameter obtained by using the function for evaluating a hardness of a complicated fluid which is previously set from a flow property of the thickener; the sensory evaluation quantifying step of quantifying the sensory evaluation by using the parameter acquired in the parameter acquisition step; and the usability evaluating step of evaluating the usability for the thickener by using a numerical value obtained in the sensory evaluation quantifying step, thereby solving above problem.
