PURPOSE: To obtain a clear analog record with high image quality and enable the record to be preserved through adhering the record onto other recording material, by a method wherein a transfer layer of a thermal recording sheet which layer comprises an adhesive layer is brought into close contact with a manuscript, light from a light source is absorbed into image parts of the manuscript to cause heat generation and color formation according to the images, releasing the color-developed transfer layer, and transferring the transfer layer onto the recording material.
CONSTITUTION: A recording-starting switch is pressed to momentarily turn ON a flash light source 9, thereby irradiating a manuscript 2 with light from the side of a base 4A of a thermal recording sheet 4. The light emitted from the source 9 and transmitted through the sheet 4 is absorbed by image parts of the manuscript, resulting in heat generation. The areas of a thermal color forming layer 4c of the sheet 4 corresponding to the image parts are brought into color formation under the heat, thereby forming an image in the sheet 4. A main body 1 is separated from the manuscript 7, is placed on a recording material 15, then pressing a pressure roller 7 against the recording material 15 by slightly inclining the main body 1, and in this condition, a transfer layer 4B is transferred and adhered to the recording material 15 by releasing at an adhesive layer 4a while pressing a release piece 4f.
