To analyze features of lung images by registering regions, particularly pleural regions of the lung in different images made at different points in time.
A technique for registering image data comprises accessing a plurality of image data sets including image data representative of a plurality of pixels. Then, a lung pleural region concerned (68) is segmented within the image data of each data set. A plurality of pixel correspondences are identified within the segmented region concerned between the image data sets. The plurality of pixel correspondences are then aligned within the segmented region concerned between the data sets to generate registered image data sets, in which the lung pleural region of interest (68) is registered between the plurality of image data sets.
