Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing coating soln. on the lip part of a die coater always holding the end part of a coating soln. to predetermined properties (viscosity or the like) without sucking the coating soln. into a slit after the completion of coating or immersing the lip of a die main body in a diluting soln. and to always holding predetermined positional relation between the leading end of the coating soln. and the leading end of the lip part.
SOLUTION: A material to be coated is moved while a coating soln. is supplied from the slit provided to the die main body 10 of a liftable de coater to be coated with the coating soln. and the supply of the coating soln. is stopped and the die main body is raised to cut off a coating soln. bead. Thereafter, the die main body is allowed to fall to set such a state that the lip part 13 of the die main body is brought into contact with a blade 16 possible to advance and retreat in the longitudinal direction of the die main body and the blade 16 is subsequently moved. By this constitution, the coating soln. SS held to the lip part is scraped off.
