Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency and safety of tamping and leveling work for underwater rubble-mound by a method in which the top end of underwater rubble-mound is graded to a level higher than a design height and struck by a tamping and leveling machine having a striker, e.g., hammer, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A tamping and leveling machine consisting of a support frame 1 and a tamping plate 2 is attached through a guide 7 to the leader of a pile driving ship 10. The machine is set on the top end of an underwater rubble- mound graded to a level higher than a design height. The top end is the rubble mound is compacted and leveled by a Diesel hammer or an oil-pressure hammer 9.
