Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize temperature control of a raw material mixture of an inside by a method wherein an actual heat-exchange heat transfer area between a heat exchanger medium and a raw material mixture is estimated, the over-all heat transfer coefficient of heat exchange between a heat exchange medium and the raw material mixture and a heat exchange capacity corresponding to that coefficient are estimated, and a supply amount of an additional raw material is controlled.
SOLUTION: When an alkylene oxide (hereafter, referred to as AO) addition reaction apparatus 1 is operated, a compound to which AO can be added and a catalyst are supplied inside a reactor 10. When a specific temperature is reached, a flow rate regulation valve 22 of an AO supply line 13 is opened, and an AO addition reaction is started. An actual heat exchange heat transfer area between a heat exchanger medium and a raw material mixture, which is increased following variation in volume generated to the raw material mixture in the reactor 10 at that time, and the over-all heat transfer coefficient in that heat exchange are estimated. Besides, a heat exchange capacity corresponding to that coefficient is estimated. Thereafter, supply of the heat exchange body is controlled so that a reaction temperature of the raw material mixture comes to be within a specific range, an supply amount of an additional raw material corresponding to the heat exchange capacity is estimated, and supply of the raw material is controlled.
