To realize a method for easily avoiding a disturbed copy result that has been a problem in the case of copying a plurality of documents at the same time.
An image processor 14 in a copying machine 10 captures a composite input image 20a including a plurality of tilt sub pictures. The processor corrects this picture to generate a composite output picture 20b including the arranged sub pictures. In order to identify the sub pictures of the input picture, the image processor 14 identifies a group consisting of combined pixels satisfying a criterion and each group is excluded from consideration so that a border box is included in the border box of the other group. The tilt angle of the different sub pictures is decided by finding out a line in best matching through the contour pixels of each combined group and the tilt of the sub pictures by a negative value of the angle of the line.
