Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS TO ACCELERATE WOUND HEALING IN THORACIC ANASTOMOSIS APPLICATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005046620
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a system and a method for removing air trapped in a lung of emphysema.

The system of oxygen therapy for a long term, which has an oxygen supplying means connected to a lung, cares hypoxia caused by chronic obstructive lung disease. The system comprises an oxygen supplying resource, a valve, and a duct 104 for transporting a fluid. The duct for transporting the fluid makes the oxygen supporting resource 102 to be connected to each part of the lung. The collateral ventilation-type bypass-trap-system which is connected to the lung increases exhalation from the lung and cares another situation of the chronic obstructive lung disease. The system comprises a trap, a filter/a check valve, and a duct for transporting air. The system can be the lung inner type, the lung outer type, or these combination. A lung pressure reducing device removes air trapped in the lung and reduces the volume of lung tissue in disease condition. A lung reposition device can reduce the pressure of the lung passively. The system needs air-tight seal between the parietal pleura and the pulmonary pleura. Chemical pleurodesis is utilized to form the seal and accelerates wound healing in thoracic anastomosis.
