Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating an aerosol can which can treat the can properly when the can is crushed or separated and an apparatus for the method.
SOLUTION: The aerosol can is supplied into a chamber 4 closed to prevent the leakage of gas in the chamber 4 while the closed condition of the chamber 4 is kept through a water sealing device 6 and crushed in the chamber 4. The pieces of the crushed can are discharged outside the chamber 4 through a water sealing device 7. In this process, the pieces are released in the liquid of the water sealing device 7 to be sorted by specific gravity. A substance whose specific gravity is higher than that of the liquid of the water sealing device 7 can easily be separated from a substance whose specific gravity is lower than that of the liquid. By making the pressure of the chamber 4 higher than that of the outside, even when the airtightness of the chamber 4 is broken, the explosion of gas components in the chamber 4 can be prevented.
