To require no mechanical agitation at all during dilution even when the pulp concentration is very high, more than 30 % after dehydration.
This is for a method and an apparatus for diluting dehydrated cellulose pulp maintaining high pulp concentration of more than 30% . By finely cutting pulp, sufficiently divided to form dried particles, the divided pulp particles can be uniformly diluted to an intermediate concentration only with the hydrodynamic effect caused by addition of the dilution flow. A plurality of nozzles are arranged on the periphery of the stand pipes 22, 40 toward the center of the stand pipe and allowed to incline in the direction that the particles fall down. Thus, the conventional dilution screw is not used at all by using these simplified procedures thereby decreasing the investment cost and the operation cost and simultaneously can avoid unnecessary mechanical influence on the pulp fiber.
