Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and apparatus for treating waste water which can decompose substances, which are difficult to be decomposed, efficiently in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: A waste water treatment apparatus, in which waste water 1 containing organic contaminants is decomposed by microorganisms 2, is equipped with three treatment tanks 3, 4, 5 in which the flowing waste water 1 is decomposed by the microorganisms 2, an electrode rod 10 and electrodes 11, 12, 13 which are installed in these treatment tanks 3, 4, 5 and generate bubbles by electrolyzing the waste water 1, and a rotation means which rotates the electrode rod 10 and the electrodes 11, 12, 13 relatively. The microorganisms 2 are activated by the electric current flowing in the waste water 1 between the electrode rod 10 and the electrodes 11, 12, 13, and the bubbles 18 generated are deposited on the microorganisms 2.
