PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of binder and to improve the deashing ratio, by granulating the particles of combustible component in wet state, separating coarse ash particles, and separating the fine coal powder from granules by a wet-type vibration screen.

CONSTITUTION: Particles of combustible component are granulated with the wet- type granulator 9, and the coarse ash particles are separated therefrom by the specific gravity classifier 13 of heavy liquid cyclone-type. The granules are separated into the granule and fine ash particles having the size of smaller than the opening of the screen mesh. The objective granulated coal having low ash content is obtained as a reticulate product. The wet-type granulator is especially preferably integrated with the specific gravity classifier.
