Abstract:
PURPOSE:To wind up a magnetic tape without disturbing the winding posture by applying a magnetic field to the magnetic tape and starting pressure reduction almost simultaneously with the start of tape winding so that the main pressure reducing area of a pressure reducing level is almost synchronized with a main speed area of the tape winding. CONSTITUTION:A tape reel 2 for winding a magnetic tape T is arranged in a pressure reducing room 50 connected to a vacuum pump 51 and a magnet is arranged in the vicinity of the reel 2. The start of pressure reduction is executed almost simultaneously with the start of tape winding or immediately after tape winding and controlled so that when a tape winding speed reaches a winding main speed area, pressure reduction reaches a main pressure reducing level. At the time of starting tape winding, the tape posture is effectively held mainly by the action of magnetic force of the magnet 19, and in the winding main speed area, very high speed winding can be executed by both the action of the magnetic force and pressure reduction. Thus, very high speed winding can be attained with excellent winding posture by utilizing both the action of the magnetic field and pressure reduction.
