Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying a thermal image forming material ensuring a satisfactory surface state and excellent in high-speed applicability without deteriorating image forming ability specifying the viscosity of a liq. contg. an org. silver salt and a binder and then applying the liq.
SOLUTION: The viscosity of a liq. contg. an org. silver salt and a binder at 25°C is regulated to 500-500,000 mPa.s at 0.1S-1 shear rate and 0.1-100 mPa.s at 1,000S-1 shear rate and then the liq. is applied. The org. silver salt is a silver salt of an org. acid, preferably an org. carboxylic acid, especially preferably a long-chain aliphatic carboxylic acid having 10-30, preferably 15-28 carbon atoms. The pref. amt. of the org. silver salt is 0.1-5 g/m2 (expressed in terms of silver). The org. silver salt-contg. liq. preferably contains a reducing agent for the org. silver salt. The reducing agent is preferably hindered pheonl.
